What we’ve got is simple: Craft Beer & Beer Food.
You know what craft beer is, and you probably like it. Ours is all American and you can even try some from our beer engine.
So what’s with the “beer food”? Just the easiest way of explaining our menu. It’s all food that tastes great with beer – things like raw oysters, homemade sausage, panini sandwiches, kraut, chips/dips and desserts – all made in house.
Besides our “beer food” – there’s still more to love. TVs for the game, a bar to just chill and growlers for your table. Show up sometime, we’ll be here.
The restaurant is owned by Jeff Tonidandel (Certified Cicerone) and his wife, Jamie Brown. The couple also owns Crepe Cellar Kitchen & Pub (next door), Haberdish (2 doors down) and Reigning Doughnuts (around the corner).
Beer Ed = Our way of sharing our passion for beer with you.
Join us every first Tuesday of each month for a different topic relating to beer. Sometimes we do food pairings (like oysters & beer or chocolate & beer). Sometimes we discuss ingredients or brewing techniques. Sometimes we sample some new beers from some of our favorite breweries. Whatever the slant, it’s always about beer, and it’s always for you.
One of our owners, Jeff, is a Certified Cicerone – that means he knows his stuff. In 2012, he became just 1 of 7 people in NC to have passed the test, and the first in Charlotte. The exam covers everything from beer styles and draft systems to brewing technology and food pairings.
All levels of beer knowledge (or lack of knowledge) welcome.
DID YOU KNOW? You can now purchase and refill growlers at Growlers Pourhouse! That’s right, either buy one of our growlers or bring your own clean growler – and we’ll fill it up for you to take home.
WHAT IS A GROWLER ANYWAY? It is a larger vessel (often approximately 64oz though it can vary) to carry craft beer. It is called a growler because of the hissing sound they used to make when you used to opened them.
